The Editorial of the current Issue (Issue 10, 1st June 2016) entitled “Biodiesel: hope and dreads” (DOI: 10.18331/BRJ2016.3.2.2) has been authored by BRJ`s Editorial Board Members; Dr. Mortaza Aghbashlo (University of Tehran, Iran) and Professor Ayhan Demirbas (King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia).

Dr. Mortaza Aghbashlo`s research interest is primarily focused on thermodynamics modeling of renewable energy and bioproducts processing systems. He is an Assistant Professor of University of Tehran. Dr. Aghbashlo received his MSc and PhD from the University of Tehran in 2008 and 2012, respectively. He also received the University of Tehran’s award for Excellence in Research in 2008 and 2012. He has co-authored more than 70 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters (h-index: 20, i10-index: 30).

Professor Ayhan Demirbas`s research on various types of biofuels in particular biodiesel is internationally recognized. Dr. Demirbas received his PhD (1980) in Chemical Engineering from Ankara University (Turkey). He then joined Selcuk University (SU, Turkey) in 1982 as an Assistant Professor. He moved to Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) in 1986 and was made a professor in 1991. Professor Demirbas is currently a full professor at Department of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, King Abdulaziz University (Saudi Arabia).

Professor Demirbas has authored 413 papers and 7 books. His publications has received 17140 citations. He holds an h-index of 64. Dr. Demirbas has successfully supervised 21 MS and 6 PhD theses. He has been Editor-in-Chief the Journal of Energy, Education, Science & Technology since 1998 and was a member of Editorial Board of the Journal of Energy Conversion & Management from 1999 to 2004. He is currently the Advisory Board Member of Journal of Energy Conversion & Management.

Professor Demirbas is among the ‘Highly Cited Researcher’ (top 1% of research field as of 1 December 2015) by Thomson Reuters ISI Web of Science.

The new issue also includes two informative Review Articles as well as quality Original Research Articles.

All articles published in the journal are freely available and are published completely free-of-charge.
